We are excited to announce a new program starting in September 2022 offered through the Digital Evidence Lab of the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General (AGO) and the UMass Amherst's Cybersecurity Institute. We are seeking UMass students to work in an on-campus office performing forensic analysis of digital evidence for cases under investigation by the AGO. Students will work under the in-person supervision of full-time digital forensic investigators from the AGO or our local Northeastern District Attorney's Office. 

The internship is ideal for students who have a focus on security and digital forensics and would like experience working in the field ahead of graduation. Students will also gain experience working in a public-service, non-profit position, where the mission is to benefit society and to make a difference. The internship is a great example of the College's commitment to supporting and teaching "Computing for the Common Good". 

Qualifications: We encourage applications from women, minorities, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. We are seeking students who have experience with computer systems and/or enrollment in or completion of CMPSCI 365. Juniors and seniors are preferred; however, first and second-year students with relevant practical experience are encouraged to apply. We will provide access to training for the skills specific to the internship. Applicants must agree to a background report (Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information, or CORI) before starting the internship.
