This paid internship is a collaboration of the UMass Cybersecurity Institute at UMass Amherst's Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences, the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General (AGO), and the Office of the Northwestern District Attorney (DA).
Responsibilities: Interns will assist with digital forensics and the collection and analysis of electronics, primarily cell phones, computers, and videos.
Qualifications: We are seeking undergraduate students who have experiences with CS electives on topics including (but not limited to) security, law, systems, networking, and AI/ML, but all are welcome to apply. Students must be at least two semesters from graduating (or intending to join the master's program).
Comprehensive Training: Before beginning their work, interns will receive extensive law and criminal justice training. They also learn the law of search and seizure of digital evidence and the criminal justice case process. In the lab, interns are supervised by professional analysts, who are ultimately responsible for their work.
We encourage applications from women, minorities, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Before starting the internship, accepted applicants must agree to complete a background check, including a Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).
